"Night at the Museum"
Our monthly open house at the museum, affectionately known as "The Anchorage." View permanent and rotating exhibits, tour our amazing history library, and find out about upcoming events and projects sponsored by the Goshen Twp Historical Society. Discover Goshen's connection to major league baseball, learn about historic Goshen farms and one room schoolhouses, and pay tribute to the Civil War soldiers of Goshen Company C and its amazing restored flag. This event is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments served. Our museum is located at 1843 SR 28, located next to the fire station. ​

Sunday July 21 at 1pm - Vintage Baseball Game
1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings vs the Dayton Clodbusters! 
FREE! The Cincinnati Red Stockings are celebrating their 150 year anniversary at the during the Goshen Bicentennial! It's baseball the old fashioned way with players in 1869 style uniforms, using 1869 rules and equipment (including hay bales for team benches!) Entertainment includes a 4pc brass band, barbershop quartet, plus hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and more! You could win a signed game ball from the Red Stockings! Commemorative Bicentennial pennants benefitting Goshen Twp Historical Society for sale at the game or order now online.

Bring your own chairs to the Goshen High School practice field, next to the Cook Log Cabin. Let's play ball!

Blacksmithing for Beginners
Choose from three projects for beginners in blacksmith arts, led by our resident blacksmith Jamie Gier. Cost includes instruction and all materials. Pay online with our secure Pay Pal link or email goshenhistory@gmail.com to arrange payment via cash or check. Our blacksmith will contact you to schedule your lesson and discuss the project. Gift certificates available for a unique and memorable gift. Certificates can be mailed to you or picked up by appointment at our museum at 1843 SR 28, next to the fire station.

The Goshen Log Cabin & Blacksmith Shop at Cook Farm:
  • Blacksmith shop open for scheduled classes. Email GoshenHistory@gmail.com for availability or for gift certificates for beginners class.
  • Log cabin open for group tours only during winter

GTHS Board of Trustees meetings are the 2nd Monday of the month 
  • 7pm at "The Anchorage" 1843 State Route 28, Goshen, OH 45122. Open to Board members and invited guests.
