The following ornaments are now sought-after collectibles. Please contact us to add your name to the waiting list in case any of these ornaments are made available or to inquire about the availability of other ornaments from a previous year.
  • 2007: The John Randall Housecirca 1840
  • 2000: Civil War Cannon located in Goshen Cemetery
  • 1999: Goshen School erected 1907, located on Goshen Road, later renamed the Green School
  • 1998: Covered Bridge on Goshen Road, built 1914, dismantled 1953
  • 1997: Old Methodist Church located on Mulberry Street, now the Nazarene Church
  • 1996: The Anchorage, home of the Goshen Township Historical Society
  • 1995: Goshen Seminary circa 1861
  • 1994: The Old Covered Bridge over O'Bannon Creek on Old State Route 28

Goshen Twp. Historical Society
Ornaments

Each year the Goshen Historical Society commissions a limited edition ornament, hand painted on natural slate by local artist Myra Wilson. The slate for these ornaments has been salvaged from the roof of an old house in the Township. Ornaments are $20 each.

Quantities are limited and some ornaments are sold out. Best selection in 2008-2009 ornaments. Contact The Goshen Township Historical Society at (513) 575-1027 for availability and purchase information.

Subscribers who have not picked up their 2011 (or earlier) ornaments should contact Edna Rhodes at 722-3830.

2004: Goshen School Hack the  predecessor to the modern school bus, school hacks were pulled by a team of horses

2003: Jackson Tavern circa 1815, once a stage coach stop, the original owner was
related to Andrew Jackson, who reportedly
spent a night there enroute to his
inauguration

2002: Ms. Aurelia Cook's Barn, circa 1880, still standing next to Goshen High School

2001: Goshen Masonic Lodge #119 was also used as a town hall, school, church and finally a private residence

The 25th Year Anniversary Booklet commemorating our Goshen Township Historical Society’s 25 years since its founding in 1986 went on sale September 24, 2011. This 8 ½ x 11” booklet is a chronology of YOUR HISTORICAL SOCIETY from 1986 through 2011. It contains 4 pages of full color photos taken by Susan Barnett and 24 pages of text compiled and written by Susan Barnett and Elaine Didday. The booklet also includes names, dates, events,  accomplishments, and histories of the Anchorage and Stroup/Cook Log Cabin.
